Team ready to take on sole oval race of the USF Pro Championship season
Indianapolis, Ind. (May 23, 2024) – Turn 3 Motorsport will race at the .686-mile oval of Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park this Friday as part of the traditional Carb Night Classic ahead of the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 taking place this Sunday. The Freedom 90 will be the sole oval event of the season for the USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire, and with championship points worth more for this round only, competitors are eager to claim the top step of the podium on Friday night.
#3 Danny Dyszelski / Vera Guitars / Formula Imports / Charlotte Mechanical
“I’m very excited for this weekend’s oval race at Indianapolis Raceway Park,” said Dyszelski. “I really enjoy oval racing, so I’m really feeling ready for the Freedom 90. Turn 3 Motorsport has always had a great car here, so now I just expect myself to perform.”
#33 Tyke Durst / FHI / Relay Payments / Drive Toward a Cure
“I’m happy to go experience an oval race for the first time,” said Durst. “It should feel somewhat familiar as my mom used to race on the dirt ovals of Nebraska as a kid. I’m also happy to have the support of my friends as we try to have a fun weekend here at Indianapolis Raceway Park.”
#44 Lochie Hughes / The McGinley Group / Private Wealth Planning / Grip Auto Timepieces
“I’m looking forward to finishing the month of May at the Freedom 90,” said Hughes. “It’s our only oval race of the season, so it’s cool to be turning left ourselves after watching INDYCAR do it all month ahead of the Indianapolis 500.”
#68 Ethan Ho / Fubon Bank / Triple S / KRC / Molecule / JiuZhou
“I’m super excited for my first ever oval,” said Ho. “The goal this weekend is to keep it on the track and continue to learn; anything more than that is just a bonus.”
Drivers participated in a pre-event test yesterday at IRP to prepare for the oval event with Turn 3 Motorsport landing three cars in the top six fastest spots in both test sessions.
Noticeably absent from this weekend’s festivities is driver Adam Fitzgerald who will be taking a hiatus from racing for the remainder of the 2024 season due to sustained injuries to his back as a result of two separate crashes in the Formula Regional European Championship last year.
#2 Adam Fitzgerald / Galway Hooker
“I will be taking a break from racing to focus on recovery which means I won’t be finishing the 2024 season,” said Fitzgerald. “When I signed the contract to race this year, I was coming off the back of a serious injury which saw me on the sidelines for most of 2023. I assumed that my recovery would be in good enough shape come the start of the 2024 season, but that hasn’t panned out. I’m optimistic that I’ll make a full recovery and return to the seat next year.”

Live video coverage will be available on the USF Pro Championships app and YouTube channels throughout the weekend.
