Trey Burke Completes Debut Indy Pro 2000 Event
Madison, Ill. (August 22, 2022) – Josh Green earned a fifth place result at this past weekend’s Indy Pro 2000 VP Racing Fuels Oval Challenge of St. Louis following a hard fought 55-lap race around the 1.25-mile circuit. The 19-year-old rookie qualified in a merited fifth place starting position after chasing the pace during pre-event testing, and the #3 car was hooked up and ready for battle by the time the race started.
By Lap 3, Green had already climbed up to third in the field, and by the halfway point he had worked his way up to P2. Unfortunately, the improvement did not last as Green started to lose the car with ten laps to go, seeing him fall back and ultimately finish the race in P5.

“It was a fight all weekend long for us,” said Green. “It didn’t stop us from getting to the point though. We fought hard and went from struggling to muscling our way onto the podium. We showed our perseverance as a team and that classic ‘never say die’ attitude that makes the family at T3M so strong.”
Trey Burke had a strong showing in his first ever Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires race, finding the pace along with Green in practice sessions and qualifying P11 for the race. After the green flag fell, the 17-year-old showed his racing capability, completing every lap and finishing his debut Indy Pro 2000 race in P12.

“It was an incredible opportunity to be able to run for Peter and the entire Turn 3 Motorsport team,” said Burke. “Unfortunately, we found the speed too late in the weekend to truly capitalize on what we found. I am still super happy with the progress we made. Thanks again to everyone at Turn 3, I hope to be back with y’all soon.”
"Both drivers did a great job over the weekend,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “Ovals are always challenging for both driver and team, but I’m super proud of the effort we put in as a group. Unfortunately, after a strong ¾ of the race, Josh lost the rear tires which really hurt his chances of finishing P2 which would have been like a win for us considering the weekend we had until that point. We will look into the reasons why the car fell off and make sure we come back as strong as possible for the season finale in Portland.”
Just one round remains in the 2022 Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires race season; the Indy Pro 2000 Championship and Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship will conclude at Portland International Raceway September 1-4 with tripleheader events on the agenda for both series.
