Jonathan Browne Tops Day One, Second Overall at USF Pro Fall Combine Open Test

Jason Pribyl Impresses in First USF2000 Test

Indianapolis, Ind. (October 25, 2022) – Jonathan Browne was the driver to beat after day one of this past weekend’s USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires Fall Combine Open Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix circuit. The Irishman set the fastest time of the day against new and returning competitors in Saturday’s opening session with a lap of 1:21.9931 around the 2.439-mile track in his #2 Turn 3 Motorsport USF Pro 2000 car. Browne rounded out day one fifth in Test Session 2 and second in Test Session 3 before heading into day two.

Browne was on pace to set the overall fastest time of the weekend in Sunday’s Test Session 4 but missed a new tire run due to a red flag, coming in seventh. Still, he was second fastest in Test Session 5 and fastest once again in the final session of the weekend, becoming the only USF Pro 2000 driver to top the time sheets twice. Browne’s original fast lap also held strong, clocking in at less than .02 seconds off the P1 overall time.

Human Centred Movement/CRPS Awareness

“We had a really good test at the Fall Combine in Indianapolis over the weekend,” said Jonathan Browne. “The team and I have been working so hard in the off season so far to learn how to make the next step, and I feel that we are really getting somewhere. It was great to be running at the front consistently!”

USF Juniors graduate Jason Pribyl had a very successful first test in the USF2000 car with Turn 3 Motorsport, setting lap times within the top ten positions in every session amongst an entry list of 25 cars. The 17-year-old progressed well over the two day test and finished a strong P2 in the final session on Sunday without putting on new tires, showing he is a strong competitor going into the 2023 season.

“The team and the car were perfect all week,” said Jason Pribyl. “The morale the team had is what pushed us to the near top in the final session on Sunday. I'm proud of what we accomplished this past weekend and intend to continue my career with Turn 3 Motorsport.”

Peter Dempsey

Turn 3 Motorsport Team Owner

“We had a very successful test at Indy with both drivers,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “Jonathan was the only driver who was right there in every session over the two days. We have worked hard post-season to get an understanding of what he wants from the car to allow him get the most out of it. I think we showed we made a big step forward, and Jonathan’s confidence has certainly improved during our post-season testing. Now we need to stay focused and keep this momentum heading into the off season.”
“Jason did a fantastic job during his tests with the team,” continued Dempsey. “He has had very little seat time this year, and we kept our expectations low but focused on maximizing his performance. He settled in very well with the team and showed he has the raw ability to be very competitive. Hopefully his performance can lead to him making his debut in USF2000 next season. A huge thanks to all our crew on a very successful few days. We will keep our heads down and keep pushing for more performances like this.”

Up next for Turn 3 Motorsport is more off-season testing over the coming months in preparation for the 2023 USF Pro Championships.
